Grandpa of the Year Builds an Epic Treehouse (5 Photos)

3 min read

If there was a competition for grandpa of the year then handyman Jay Hewitt would certainly win it. With his years of experience as a contractor he’s just finished a 3-story, 40-foot-tall treehouse for his grandkids and it’s just about the coolest thing ever.

Before his grandchildren were even born Hewitt said “I wanted to build a treehouse for them. You’ve never seen a treehouse like the one I’m gonna build for them.” Hewitt enjoyed a playing in a tree house during his own childhood, although that tree house was only constructed from 4-by-8 sheets of plywood.

It’s taken Hewitt a year to build and now his 5-year-old grandson and 4-year-old granddaughter can experience the joys of having a tree house too.
