Dream House – Scottsdale’s The Pass (14 Photos)

Life in the Southwest is about respect for your surroundings, the natural materials and indeed enjoying life. The Pass Residence captures this essence in its entirety. Engulfed by nature, its careful positioning and use of strategically placed overhangs offer the interior maximum protection from the relentless desert sun.

The Pass Residence will have you captivated before you have so much as stepped inside. The cactus lined path, the small fountain that gurgles away and the square cut outs are all enticing clues as to the mystery that awaits you on the inside. The front entryway is made entirely of glass. Containing iridescent dichroic flakes, it shimmers and glows, changing colour according to the natural light. The patio has a series of outdoor rooms, cleverly designed to allow for plentiful shaded seating areas whilst the pool remains in the sun. Here at Homeadverts we just love the thought of leaning on that infinity edge, or relaxing in the hot tub whilst watching the deer below.

Stepping inside, suspended reclaimed barn beams form a uniform line to lead you down the gallery. The master bedroom can be found seeping in to the end of the gallery, separated when required by utterly sublime, reclaimed sliding barn doors. The open fireplace, identical to the one on the patio, divides the main living area. Copper covers the uplit fireplace, harmonising with the copper used on the external roofline. The kitchen is a combination of traditional and contemporary. Oak Shaker cabinets and brown schist stone lend a warm, contemporary feel. The granite bar provides a much used social area for the kitchen and right outside on the patio is the outdoor kitchen and TV lounge.

Bacon is always the answer. Currently working towards an MBA with an emphasis in fantasy football. I have friends in spite of myself. Probably the best meat eater in the world. Trying to change the name from Tweeting to Gregging. Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things. I’m here to avoid friends on Facebook.
