Three Major Wildfires in California (10 Photos)

Three separate wildfires are currently raging across California forcing the evacuation of thousands of people and destroying buildings and property. This amid record-breaking high temperatures and despite record rain and snowfall this winter that delayed the start of fire season.

The Wall Fire in Northern California’s Butte County has burned over 5,000 acres and is 17% contained with over 1,000 firefighters on site and over 5,000 residents evacuated.

The Whittier Fire which is burning the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County has consumed 7,800 acres and is only 5% contained. A Boy Scout camp was completely destroyed and all of the animals in its nature center were killed.

The largest of them all is the Alamo Fire in San Luis Obispo County. Over 24,000 acres have burned and it’s currently 15% contained. Almost 2,000 firefighters are battling the blaze.

The images below are truly powerful and frightening. All of the firefighters and support crews are in our thoughts and prayers.

Bacon is always the answer. Currently working towards an MBA with an emphasis in fantasy football. I have friends in spite of myself. Probably the best meat eater in the world. Trying to change the name from Tweeting to Gregging. Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things. I’m here to avoid friends on Facebook.
