Before the glittery golden opulence of The Mirage and the singing gondoliers at The Venetian, there was a storied past to Las Vegas – where gangsters ruled the Strip and neon-lit up the clubs and casinos of old downtown. The Vegas of the ’50s and ’60s holds a certain charm, even to those who had never visited Sin City in those early years, and the photos here seek to convey some of that charm. From the one-armed bandits and the feathered and frocked showgirls to the neon signs that dotted Fremont Street, the spell of vintage Vegas grabs ahold and never let’s go!
Bacon is always the answer. Currently working towards an MBA with an emphasis in fantasy football. I have friends in spite of myself. Probably the best meat eater in the world. Trying to change the name from Tweeting to Gregging. Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things. I’m here to avoid friends on Facebook.
