Why a Land Rover Defender Costs More Now Than When It Was New (Video)

The Land Rover Defender hasn’t been available in the U.S. for almost twenty years. Back then the U.S. government mandated airbags in every car, and Land Rover didn’t want to comply.

While every other car depreciates as time goes by, the Defender has continued to increase in value, and a cherry one could go for upwards of $100,000. People will pay this much despite the fact that the Defender is loud, uncomfortable and unreliable. In the video above, Doug DeMuro explains why the Defender is such an anomaly.
