When you think of rugged, manly actors, Kevin Costner probably comes to mind pretty quickly. Costner not only portrays tough, outdoorsy characters, but he also lives his life that way uprooting from California and moving his family to a rustic 165-acre Aspen, Colorado ranch complete with three rivers begging you to grab your fly fishing gear.
When Kevin decided to build the ultimate adventure truck, he turned to the Toyota Tundra. Working Complete Customs of McKinney, Texas, Costner was involved in every step of the design process.
The Tundra’s off-road capabilities were enhanced with rugged new front and rear bumpers were fabricated from heavy-gauge steel. Heavy-duty Warn winches and LED lighting bars and accents from Rigid Industries were incorporated into the new bumpers.
An ARE V Series Truck Cap encloses the truck bed along with a custom two-piece roof rack.
A 4.5-inch BDS suspension lift with Fox coilovers and shocks raises the TUndra and 8-inch Method Race wheels with burly 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires ensure that Costner can easily traverse his rugged terrain.
Keeping his family in mind, Costner ensured this custom-built Tundra could also function as a comfortable family vehicle, stating, “It worked for me, but more importantly it worked or my wife.” The family-friendly upgrade includes TV monitors in the front-seat headrests and a padded sleeping area for the kids.
You can check out this drool-worthy off-road beast at SEMA Las Vegas at the Toyota display booth (#24800) in Central Hall and on the Patio Annex of the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 30 – November 2, 2018
